I’ve survived my first week of work! Of course my first day was full of HR stuff and paperwork, but the rest of the time was spent bouncing around and getting the swing of how things work. I am really excited to roll up my sleeves and dig in! The first time I opened my email I somehow had 1900 unread messages! I’m still sorting through them, but making progress. The work is fast-paced and multi-faceted, but it’s soooo interesting! I don’t think I’ll ever be bored! I was kind of bummed when Friday came along actually, and I can’t wait to go back tomorrow! The people seem awesome too. I am just so excited to be there, really and truly!
We also had a nice couple that we met on the interwebs invite us over on Friday night for some Indian food and music-making. We attempted to play some violin trios as a violin, alto sax, and bari sax ensemble. It was interesting, but we had a ton of fun. They had a dog and we were able to bring Lucy over, so that was nice. It’ll be great to finally move into our apartment next Friday, and not be tied to this hotel. Hotel living is kind of annoying, but at least we have a fitness center and an ice machine. Ice machines are really the best thing about hotels. 🙂
