UFood Grill bills itself as a “better for you” alternative to traditional fast food.  And every once in a while, I try not to be a huge fatty.  I remember having a decently tasty turkey burger and fries at the location in Boston, so when I saw a buffalo chicken wrap on the menu and had a few minutes to kill before a flight at the Salt Lake Airport, I figured I’d give it a whirl.

The menu just says “Buffalo Bleu Chicken Wrap”.  I think that’s pretty self explanatory.  No need to get bogged down in the semantics – just get me some buff chix!  It was actually bigger than I thought it would be for 500ish calories, so that was a pleasant surprise.  The spinach tortilla was marvelous – it was warm and had just the perfect hint of moisture and chewiness.  The sauce and the bleu cheese dressing were well proportioned and tasty.  I did not feel robbed of the extra fat with the low fat dressing.  There was some lettuce in there as well.  Honestly, my only complaint about this wrap was the chicken itself!  The chicken was sort of mealy and grainy, which I was surprised about.  I would usually expect the meat at a purportedly healthy restaurant to be high quality, but this really didn’t taste like it.  I ended up picking most of it out and making it a buffalo lettuce wrap.

This one is hard to grade.  I’ve said before that my whole buffalo experience is not so much about the meat, or whatever vehicle is transferring the buffalo sauce and bleu cheese into my face.  However, the consistency of the meat made it difficult to enjoy until I started picking it out.  This would have gotten a much better score if the meat hadn’t been so unpleasant, because it was actually a well designed little wrap.  Maybe this was just a strange batch of chicken or something, so I’ll try not to be too harsh.  Also, the fries are pretty good for “healthy” fries!
