After a rough day of moving with help from some great friends, we rewarded everyone (and ourselves) with some pizza and beer.  Although Este is one of the pricier take-out options in the valley, we decided to splurge because we’re already in a billion dollars of debt for our new house, so what’s a pizza?

The menu says “Topped with Chicken and our House made buffalo sauce. Finished with cold chopped celery and blue cheese crumbles.”  Celery on pizza????  That might just be crazy enough to work!  For me, celery is an integral part of the buffalo wing experience.  So I very much appreciated this touch on my pizza.

This pizza looked and tasted wonderful.  The crust is thin and just the right amount of crunchy.  The ingredients were well proportioned.  The celery added a whimsical crunch. My one complaint would be that there was still pizza sauce underneath, which just seemed unnecessary.  It introduced a flavor that just didn’t need to be there.  If you’re gonna go all in on buff chix and even go as far to put celery on your pizza, there’s no reason to weigh it down with plain old pizza sauce.

All in all, this was a really enjoyable take on buff chix.  Great work, Este!
